Job Duties:

  • Promote the portfolio of fine wines and Champagne, encompassing various aspects such as economic development, technical expertise, environmental sustainability, quality enhancement, marketing and pricing strategies for on- and off-premise channels, and global promotion of the Champagne region as a prominent commercial entity.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of individual sub region or crus of Champagne region, ranging from soil types to their distinct contributions to the final product.
  • Effectively communicate the nuanced differences between different Champagne sub regions, styles, blends, varietals and ages.
  • Explore and convey the intricacies of the production processes involved in crafting world-class Champagnes.
  • Establish, expand and manage a network of sommeliers in the United States, fostering relationships to promote Champagne in top-tier restaurants and resorts.
  • Develop and execute tastings and other events tailored for the trade, focusing on showcasing the unique attributes of the Champagne region.
  • Organize and represent fine wine and Champagne brands at various events, including fashion and style-leader gatherings, strategic partnerships with luxury brands, sponsorships, charitable events and in-store wine showcases.
  • Coordinate educational training sessions, tastings and master classes with relevant trade professionals, distributor representatives and consumers. Identify and pursue new business opportunities aimed at enhancing distribution, sales, and brand visibility.
  • Act as the primary Champagne market expert for the Maisons Marques & Domaines USA leadership team: facilitating access to timely sales data, creating customized reports showing ROI for specific marketing campaigns.
  • Regularly analyze account call reports, maintain monthly product sample inventory and usage reports, and monitor monthly Point of Sale (POS) inventory data.
  • Provide brand-focused support to off premise accounts through in-store sampling (where legal), effective merchandising, and ongoing customer staff education, while building and nurturing relationships with accounts.
  • Spearhead initiatives to enhance trade and consumer familiarity with Champagne products by elevating brand awareness and reinforcing a commitment to quality.

 

Requirements:

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field of study, and 4 years of experience in the alcohol beverage industry as Area Sales Manager, Brand Manager/Ambassador, or similar role in the Fine Wine industry, specializing in wines from the Champagne region of France.
  • Experience specified must include 4 years of experience with each of the following: distributor salesforce education; key accounts visits with suppliers; and consumer events organization.
  • Requires Level 2 certification from WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust).
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week. Must live within normal commuting distance of Maisons Marques & Domaines USA, Inc.’s office in New York, NY.
  • Requires up to 25% domestic/international travel.
  • Work location: 747 3rd Avenue #20, New York, NY 10017.

 

Salary:

  • $119,038 to $120,000/year
